Nitebeat (1965-68) — Kansas City's premiere call-in show and a killer in the ratings. It was also a free-for-all that Walt describes as sharing “a lot in common with a grocery store tabloid.” The show ran from 10 P.M. to 1 A.M. Monday through Friday. “In those three hours, I am certain, the I.Q. of the audience gradually shrank.” (My TImes, My Town)

Sunday Town Hall (1968-74) — A five-hour public affairs call-in show that ran from 7 P.M. to Midnight every Sunday night, presenting the host with certain technical difficulties.
